State, City, and Community Businesses Celebrate ½ñÈճԹϒs Founding Day
This Friday, February 9 is officially “½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï Day” throughout the state. That’s the day ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï was founded exactly 150 years ago in Colorado Springs. To mark ½ñÈճԹϒs Sesquicentennial, proclamations from both the City of Colorado Springs and the State of Colorado signed this week by Mayor Yemi Mobolade and Governor Jared Polis both commemorate February 9, 2024, as ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï Day.
Area businesses are joining in the celebration by offering deals and discounts on food and beverage. Josh & John’s Ice Cream and Poor Richard’s Restaurant, both founded by ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï alums, encourage people to wear their ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï spirit wear to get a discount on food.
